Paul Torensma is a Dutch kitefoil and wingfoil rider based in Scheveningen. For more than 15 years, wind and water have been a constant part of his life, and he still approaches every session with the same excitement as when he first started. Never taking things too seriously, Paul enjoys strapless freeriding, learning new tricks, and making the most of every day on the water. Whether it’s a quick session at his home spot or a road trip through France and Switzerland, he’s always looking for new places, new conditions, and the next adventure.

Favorite Gear Set-Up

For Kitefoiling in light wind, I love riding the SONIC⁵, 10 m or the SUPERSONIC, 15 m, together with the Levitaz EXO Pocket 2, FREE Series FW 680 and a 96 cm mast. In stronger conditions, I usually go for the SOUL³ in 6 m or 8 m with the same setup. For Wingfoiling, I ride the AVID in all sizes, combined with the Levitaz BOOM 83, FREE Series FW 900/790 and an 84 cm mast.

Personal Highlights

Landing 11 consecutive Around the Worlds is one of Paul’s proudest achievements so far. It’s a trick mastered by only a handful of riders, and during that session everything came together perfectly. More than anything, it reflects his passion for progression, creativity, and having fun on the water.
